A Collection of Stories about Peter J.B. Reimer

A new spiral bound book has been released, by Syd Reimer – A Collection of Stories About My Dad, Peter J.B. Reimer.

Peter J.B. Reimer wrote a weekly column in the Scratching River Post, “Allerhand in der Deutchen Ecke”, and Ralph Friesen has translated them into English. Many of the stories, were ones that Syd Reimer had never seen about his father’s life.

At 89 years old, Syd is proud to share these stories with the Kehler Clan! Together with his wife Helen, Syd lives in Winnipeg and has enjoyed the challenge of collaborating many stories into one book.

Peter H. Neufeld, age 92, of Steinbach, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB. Just 6 weeks short of his 70th wedding anniversary.

Unexpectedly, with family by her side, Mary Kehler (nee Toews), 79, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, June 19th, 2018, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre.

She is survived by Stan, her loving husband of 56 years, two daughters Laura (Ken) Plett children Jeremy and Kara; Valerie (Mark) Reimer children Jonah and Jerica; two sons Brad (Pam) children Graeme and Peyton; Chad (Neve) his daughter Jade and her daughter Rynn. Former Ebenfeld School to be Moved

There is a lot of history at the corner of Highway 52 and Centre Street North in Mitchell.

The half-acre or so of land on the west side of Centre Street North is the location of the popular Ham Dog House, but that building wasn’t always a restaurant, it was originally built as a school house to provide local children with education.

Eva Schellenberg (nee Kehler), 78, of Steinbach, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Bethesda Hospital. Eva leaves to cherish her memory five children: Lorraine (Charles Koop), Bob (Sylvia), Helen (Bill Briggs), Joan (Norman Poetker), and Tina (Andy Goossen) as well as fifteen grandchildren and their spouses and fourteen great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Jacob W. Reversed Racing: Kehler Father & Son Team

Wayne Kehler, together with his son Reegan have been busy all winter prepping their car, for the races at the Gimli Motorsports Park.

The Berliner Kehler clan is being represented at the Gimli Motorsports Park this summer once again.  In reversed racing, Wayne Kehler, together with his son Reegan have been busy all winter prepping their car, #200X. Winnipeg Sports Car Club holds five race weekends in the summer months at the Gimli Motorsports Park. These race weekends are two days of non-stop racing on the 1.45 mile, 10 corner race track. David Kehler passed away peacefully on June 12, 2009 after a brief illness at the Riverview Health Centre. Dave was born in the RM of Hanover on May 27, 1930. In 1952 he moved to Dauphin where he met and married Irene Bawdon and raised their three children. In 1970 the family moved to Winnipeg where he resided until the time of his death. Dave was friendly and outgoing with a great sense of humor, and a knack for telling tall tales.

He liked to have coffee with his friends, new and old, reminiscing about the good old days . Dave had a great memory and could recall events from the past like they had happened yesterday. Continue reading “David Hiebert Kehler (1930-2009)”
