Russell Alan James Kehler was born on December 20, 1959 to Henry and Susan Kehler.

Norman Kenneth Kehler, youngest son of the late David Stoesz Kehler and the late Katharina Wiebe Kehler and beloved husband of 19 years of Elizabeth Dawes, was set free on October 26, 2007, after years of living with cancer. Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, on May 15, 1959, Norman lived in Grand Rapids and Steinbach before moving to Winnipeg where he learned to play hockey and football on the street with his brothers. Peacefully, after a long illness, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Edgar Kehler passed away on February 17, 2006 at Bethesda Hospital.He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Helen; children, Terry (Jacqueline), Tim and Chris (Charis); and grandchildren, Cassandra, Julian, Hunter and Ty. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Ike) Giesbrecht of Winnipeg, Betty (Gus) Dueck of Mitchell and Helen Hildebrandt of Steinbach; his brothers, Stan (Mary) of Mitchell, Ben (Martha) of Steinbach, Pete (Eva) of Steinbach, and Ernie of Calgary as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), in partnership with the Buried Heart Foundation, will host the Inside Out charity auction of offender art at the Elliott Louis Gallery on October 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The auction will feature more than 100 pieces of art created and donated by more than 50 offenders serving federal sentences. The artists – inmates from seven institutions in the Pacific Region as well as community parolees – have donated pieces ranging from native carved boxes and hope chests to paintings, stained glass and masks. MTS Advanced Inc. has bought the dial-up Internet service business of Steinbach-based ISP CCCO Net.
According to Jeff Rohne, president and chief operating officer of MTS Advanced Inc., CCCO Net’s customers will be able to choose from a larger range of Internet services, at better prices. They’ll have access to services such as international roaming, virtual private networks, and electronic commerce.
“We are delighted that our Internet customers will continue to be served by a Manitoba company,” said CCCO Net president Larry Kehler, who established CCCO Net in Steinbach in 1995 as a division of Computer Consulting Co. It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jacob (Stoesz) Kehler, age 75 years of Steinbach, Manitoba. Jake is survived by his wife Helen of 52 years; one daughter Carol Penner (Jim) and two sons Murray (Joanne) and Wayne (Sandi) and their families.

Suddenly on Monday, March 15, 1999, while vacationing in Florida with his wife and friends, Rev. Bill Hildebrandt, aged 62 years, of Steinbach, passed away in Stuart, Florida.
Besides his loving wife Helen, his memory will be cherished by son Mark, and daughters Denise and Karla, and their respective spouses, as well as two granddaughters Carey and Ashley.

Outside, their diesel trucks idle in the cold. Inside, the substantial and the trivial of country life is the morning’s gossip. The men wear their caps, each with the trademark of a seed company, a tractor maker or a rural co-operative. They joke about their endless concerns over prices of the harvest past and insects of the summer to come. They pour over the local weekly, The Carillon, reading and discussing stories of town meetings and new hay balers with the intensity of physicists analyzing new theories.
