Suddenly October 2, 1978 at a hospital in Asuncion, Paraguay, Denis Kehler, age 42, of Colony Bergthal, Paraguay, formerly of Manitoba.

Funeral services were held October 4 in Colony Bergthal and a memorial service was held in the Steinbach Chortitzer Church on October 22, 1978.

Mr. Kehler, who was married to the former Helena Pries, is survived by his wife, three sons, three daughters.

On November 20, 1977 at the Grace Hospital, Joseph Grunwald, aged 75 years, beloved husband of Helen Grunwald of 867 Ebby Ave, Winnipeg, MB.

Marlene House, 42, passed away suddenly on December 7, 1975 in Austin, Minnesota as a result of a Cerebral Hemorrhage.

Marilyn (Marlene) Joyce Ratzlaff was born on December 18, 1932 to Herman and Anne Ratzlaff in Swift Current, SK. She married Neil Wayne House and together they raised three sons. Besides her husband Neil, she is survived by her three sons Neil, John and Steven. On January 12, 1975 at the Victoria Hospital, David Kehler, aged 52 years, beloved husband of Katie Kehler. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Rodney and his wife Carol of Haney, BC, Raymond and his wife Martha, Donald, Barry and Norman, all of Winnipeg, one grandson Ryan.

Weekend Accidents Claim 7 Lives

At least seven people lost their lives accidentally in Manitoba during the weekend, including five people who were killed in a traffic accident early Saturday morning.

At least seven people lost their lives accidentally in Manitoba during the weekend, including five people who were killed in a traffic accident early Saturday morning.  Dead are:

Jennifer A. Stott, 18, of Niverville, Man.
Allan Regehr, 17 of Tourond, Man
Eric Hiebert, 24, of Niverville.
Donald Kehler, 18, of Ile des Chenes, Man.
Raymond J. Delorme, 21 of St. Pierre, Man.
Georgina Lilly Mason, 8, of Koostatak, Man.
John Conrehene, 7, of the Fort Alexander Reserve.

Miss Stott, Mr. Regehr, Mr. Hiebert, Mr. Kehler and Mr. Delorme were killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 59 about 1 ½ miles north of Ile des Chenes.

Mr. Delorme was alone in the car which he was driving; the other four were in the car driven by Mr. Regehr.

Two other passengers in the Regehr car – Candice Chand, 18, and Wayne Hiebert, 17, both of Niverville – were reported in fair condition at St. Boniface Hospital Monday.

The extent of their injuries was not revealed. Further information on the accident was not available.

Donald is the oldest son of Neil (Cornelius) & Agnes Kehler, Niverville, MB

Jacob H Kehler (1912-1972)

Following a short illness, Jacob Kehler of Red Lake, ON passed away at the age of 60 years on Tuesday August 29, 1972 at the Red Lake Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Kehler was born at Halbstadt, MB and was educated there. He lived in Manitoba until 1957 when he moved to Red Lake, ON. He was married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Friedensfeld in 1939 and was a member of the Red Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Red Lake Credit Union. Herman John Ratzlaff passed away August 17, 1971. He is survived by his wife, Anna Ethel (Penner) Ratzlaff, two children, Rayfield Glen Ratzlaff  and Marilyn J. Ratzlaff.

Brenda Elizabeth Giesbrecht passed away tragically on April 13, 1970 by taking her own life. She had suffered with mental illness for the past 5 years.

She was survived by her parents Elizabeth and Edwin Giesbrecht, her sister Valerie, her grandmother Susan Wieler, and her grandfather George F. Giesbrecht. She was predeceased by her brother Walter, Grandpa Henry Wieler, and Grandma Elizabeth Giesbrecht.

Henry Unger Wieler, beloved husband of Susanna (nee Kehler), passed away March 13, 1970 in Steinbach, MB. Henry was born in Eigenhof, near Steinbach on November 21, 1894. He married Susanna Kehler on July 14, 1918 in Chortitz, Manitoba.
