Lila Merle Staples Kehler (1922-2002)

After a lengthy illness and gallant fight, Lila passed away July 26, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. Lillian Borkowsky Kehler (1919-2001)

Peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2001, surrounded by her family, Lillian Kehler passed away at the Bethesda Hospital at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frances (Pete) Peters and Valerie (Bernie) Brodeur; her grandchildren, Scott, Pam and Kristie Peters and Nathan Brodeur, as well as her great-grandson Jordan; sisters, Minnie Saskosky, Elsie (Harry) Schinkel, Marg (Neil) Yaskow, Elma Borkowsky, Lorraine (Jake) Rempel; one brother Adolphe (Norie) Borkowsky, many nieces, nephews and friends. Daniel Paul Sagriff (1958-2000)

Suddenly on March 6, 2000 Dan passed away in Brandon, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his mother, Rosemary and sister Darlene. Dan is survived by his three daughters, Crystal, Tammy and Bonnie; grandchildren, Breanna & Matthew; father, Frank; sister Bonnie; brothers, Jim, John and Steve and their families. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with visitation one half hour prior to the service.

January 24, 1994 at 1pm, with her family at her side, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Lizzie Dueck went to be with her Lord and Saviour after a lengthy battle with a blood disorder.

Lizzie was born in Halbstadt, now known as Shakespeare, September 8, 1915. She was the third of 11 children born to Aron and Elizabeth Kehler.

At the age of nine she moved with her family to Stuartburn where the family farmed and her father worked as a carpenter. At the early age of 11 years, she went to work as a child care worker and housekeeper and for the next few years worked for Rev. Jacob H Kehler (1912-1972)

Following a short illness, Jacob Kehler of Red Lake, ON passed away at the age of 60 years on Tuesday August 29, 1972 at the Red Lake Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Kehler was born at Halbstadt, MB and was educated there. He lived in Manitoba until 1957 when he moved to Red Lake, ON. He was married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Friedensfeld in 1939 and was a member of the Red Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Red Lake Credit Union. Aron Schultz Kehler was born in Hochfeld, the third son, fourth child of the Berliner Kehlers. Like the others, grew up in the family farm in Ebenfeld.

On November 28, 1911, Aron married Elizabeth Hiebert of Hochfeld. It was a fruitful marriage that produced seven boys and four girls and lasted 56 years.
