After mom and dad were married they lived in Steinbach for seven years. They then purchased the farm near Randolph, MB where they lived for the next 32 years.
Mom loved her local church, Silberfeld CMC, and served wholeheartedly with the ladies group. She taught junior youth and 4-H for many years. Mom welcomed young people to her home, providing them with an abundance of food and laughter.
Dad and Mom moved to Steinbach in 1986. They enjoyed an active retirement, serving at the MCC Thrift Shop, travelling and serving with the Steinbach CMC serving group.
After Dad passed away, Mom moved to Woodhaven Apartments, where she lived until her passing. Mom loved the Lord and she loved people. She wrote to many missionaries always remembering their birthdays and anniversaries, sent them encouraging words and prayed for them faithfully.
Mom was a faithful prayer warrior. Her prayer list included her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Christian organizations, missionaries, shut ins, and so many others as she heard of their needs.
Mom had a way of making people feel welcome in her home. She loved to cook and bake for others and it brought her so much joy to see others enjoying her food! Many will remember her love gifts of nuts and bolts, rhubarb pie, cream cookies, and marshmallow squares.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Palliative care staff and the Homecare workers who brightened her day with their visits. Special thanks to Agnes for her years of dedicated service and friendship.
