Ingredients

  • 1 smoked ham bone or ham hock
  • 2 – 3 cups beet leaves, slivered
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/3 cup dill, chopped
  • 4 – 6 potatoes, cubed
  • 8 cups water
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Put the water and the ham in a large pot and bring to boil.
  2. Simmer for a few hours.
  3. Remove the bone.
  4. Add the vegetables and cook until tender.
  5. Add the meat back into the pot.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve with sour cream.
