Leonard George Unger

On November 17, 2011 Leonard George Unger passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach. Leonard was born April 4, 1928 to Jacob and Aganetha Unger of Steinbach.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 60 years Helen, his children Pete (Carla) and Pat (Leo); sister Norma (Harry), his brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. (more…)

Joan Doreen Reimer

On April 6, 2011, Joan Doreen Reimer, nee Frederick, beloved wife of Al Reimer, passed away peacefully at the Grace General Hospital. She was in her 81st year. Joan was born on May 18, 1930 and raised in Pine Falls, Manitoba, the oldest of three siblings, and began her working career there in the office of the Abitibi Paper Mill.

In 1951, Joan married Elmer E (Al) Reimer, who came from Steinbach, Manitoba, and together they raised three children. Joan and Al lived in Toronto and New Haven, Connecticut (where Al pursued graduate studies at Yale), before they settled in Winnipeg. (more…)

Louise Olson

Louise Olson died peacefully on February 19, 2011, at the age of 82, at the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Giesbrecht as well as her second husband, Clarence Olson.  She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Beverly (Theo), Bonnie (Russ); her son, Nelson; grandchildren: Elena (Jason); Emmanuel (Sarka); Miltos (Neviyah); Peter; Teddy; Matthew (Mel); Joshua; Abe (Danielle); great-grandchildren: Aria; Petra; and Zamar.  She is also deeply mourned by her siblings: Al (Elmer) (Joan); Nita (Guy); Sydney (Helen) and Charlotte. Marjorie Anne Reimer Heinrichs

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of Marjorie Anne Heinrichs of Rosenort, Manitoba. Marj passed away tragically November 9, 2010 at the age of 54.

Born March 2, 1956 in Morris, Manitoba to Sydney and Helen Reimer, Marj was the second eldest of six siblings, Daryl, Dan (Leslie), Kim (Cal), Peter and James (Christine).

She was raised in Rosenort in a house by the river. From an early age, Marj was a gifted story teller, never telling a boring story, always making them slightly more interesting by emphasizing the facts . (more…)

On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family, Bill passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Marlene (Kehler), his children Barbara Bezeau (Guy), Cheryl Posten (Denis) and Neil Aitken (Barbara), his nine adored grandchildren, his precious great-grandson and namesake, and his sister Roslyn Lecuyer. Mark Stafford Reimer

Mark Stafford Reimer born on April 25, 1953 passed away on August 25, 2010 in Calgary, AB.

Left to mourn his passing are his two children, Jamie and Megan, both of Calgary, AB,  his parents, (Al) Elmer & Joan Reimer (Winnipeg, MB) and his siblings Cynthia Melanie Eeson, (Calgary, AB) and Curt Reimer (Winnipeg, MB).

After a period of failing health, our dear husband, father and grandfather, Isaac Giesbrecht passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg.

John Jacob Kehler

John Jacob Kehler, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, in Surrey, BC.  Born in Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan on June 3, 1929. Predeceased by his loving wife Henritte L R Kehler on March 15, 2006. Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep, soulfully wishing to be reunited with his wife Hetty whom he missed dearly. Dad was a loving, devoted father, who worked hard to support his large family of four children throughout his younger years. He was also a caring grandfather, his greatest joy being family. (more…)

Renette K. Schoenewe of Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Everly, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas after a long illness.

Renette was born Feb. 21, 1956, to Ronald and Winifred Schoenewe of Everly. She was a graduate of Everly High School and attended the University of South Dakota where she met and married John House. (more…)

Tyler Jordan Dyck

 It is with great sadness that the family of Tyler Jordan Dyck, age 24, of Steinbach, Manitoba announces his sudden passing at their home in Steinbach, on Sunday October 4, 2009.

Besides his parents Jake and Dianne Dyck, he is survived by his sister Kassandra and her friend Nathan Klassen. He is also survived by his very special friend Sabrina Amador.

He is further survived by his paternal grandfather Jacob A. Dyck and by his maternal grandparents Bill and Tina Kehler, all of Steinbach; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. (more…)
